  1. We are hoping to have an AGM meeting this Saturday the 10th July at 12.30pm. We need to approve the accounts that have been prepared by Sheryle before we can post them off to IRD.
This is urgent and also timely with changes to the co-op. The food is now kept in the garage, There is a number keypad on the door, same code as the alarm, so you don’t need to get the key. Be aware of not snibing the lock when you leave though or the next person will have to get the key out of the box as well as using the keypad.
There is a big order coming in wednesday Manderines, (order pears if you want some. People sharing a crate of Bos B), mushrooms again, but still not enough orders for yoghurt.
Plenty of Avos, kiwifruit, beetroot, j carrots, potatoes and onions.

Please tell any old members or newly interested people about the meeting, we are hoping it will be short and sweet but get us all up to speed.
    Cheers, Corinne

  2. Just realised this comment ended up under the category ‘good food’ on the side so i have copied it here!!

    Co-op Changes 11/06/10
    Hi All,

Well as most of you have realised the co-op has been moved out to the garage and my teen age son has claimed that room as his own. I have reclaimed my big fridge…Yay.

So.. 3 people have shopped from the garage now and it seems to have worked ok. Some things will need to change though, for instance the yoghurt will need to have a few people wanting to buy it at once and it will be pre-packed as there is no cleaning facilities available.

The key will stay in the same box and the garage has the same alarm code. Just phone Corinne if you want some help the first time.

We need to organise a time to have an AGM. This is a legal requirement as an incorporated society so time to let the group know if you want to confine this to a meeting or to have a potluck to go with it. Day, night or weekend?

Also once again many thanks to Sheryle who this time has taken on our accounts so we don’t need to pay the the account as we still owe them lots of money and we are still a year behind. Thanks to Veronica who did them for the 2 years previously.

Well thats it for now. Lets find a date and format for the AGM. Will be good to have this in June or early July.

    Cheers

    Corinne

  3. Hi Everyone,
big shop this week. Still in stock are mushrooms, manderines, beetroot, juicing carrots, garlic and squash.
New in is a bulk lot of kale, kiwifruit. Some heirloom pumpkin for cheap and some onions that need processing so will also be cheap. There will also be Ilam Hardy potatoes and a spare leek or two maybe. Avocados, grannysmith apples and some tomatoes. This stuff will arrive wednesday evening and storage will be an issue for chilled stuff so let me know if you want kale or tomatoes as i will be processing lots of it on wednesday.
If anyone wants yoghurt again let me know, we need to have enough orders to buy it and will have to pre-package.
    Cheers, Corinne

  4. AMY yes flaxseed in the this thursday also fresh strawberries for you and one spare for whoever gets it first :)

  5. Hey everyone,

Jam strawberries again this week, should be better quality than the last lot we got according to the grower.

Also next week is last chance for frozen strawberries. You will need to order, pick up and pay (can pay off if arranged with Corinne) next week. They will be finishing up soon.

Probably time to think about a get together, before the end of the tax year (31st march) to decide if we want to keep going!

Whos tried the milk? Talk to Corinne if you are interested. Its great!

  6. corn this week $ 1.41 per cob
also last of the vege seedlings for sale
No extra fresh strawberries this week but frozen avail

  7. Oh before i forget thanks to Linda who came to pack the peanut butter, cleaning containers and making a great job of it. Also to Amy who arrived as well. Thanks to the 2 of them all 4kg of peanut butter is packed and on the shelf. First in first served!

  8. Hi there,

There were no apricots or peaches on the freash direct list this week and we need a contact for getting them directly. We also have the problem of storage and selling enough to not have waste as they are often sold in 10 or 20kg lots.
I’m a bit cautious of waste at the moment. Last week no one brought broccoli and the whole crate became seconds and needed to be frozen!
Your punnet of strawberries is here though. They are beautiful but need to be eaten quickly when weather has been rainy.
    Cheers, Corinne

  9. Hi,
    Any other goodies this week?

just wondered if there is any chance of getting apricots or peaches? I would pay a bit more to get a better grade than have a lesser grade.

  10. just playing around
I don’t know how to give different faces they were on automatic

  11. HI
I am keen for strawberries for next week (28th January 2010) but just 1 punnet please.
    Cheers Sheryle
p.s how do I change the assigned pic that goes with my name? A bit of a grump dont you think?

  12. Hi Amy,
The jam strawberries are just 1kg punnets of small or odd size strawberries. They are great to eat, a better grade than the frozen ones usually. BUT there are no jam strawberries this week (there are frozen ones) as orders need to come in lots of 5 punnets and i am the only 1 who ordered any this week so 4 had no homes so no order as the co-op cant afford to have big waste.
Orders for strawberries need to be in by monday nights.

Packing the peanut butter would be great as it hasn’t been done yet. Let me know when you want to come and do it, preferably not when others are packing thier orders.

We will look at meetings in february. Thanks for yours and sheryles feed back about when could work for you.

The other specials this week have already been listed e.g Broccoli is fantastic this week!

    Cheers
    Corinne

  13. All right. thanks Dave for getting this up and running, it’s already seems like a winner. If the jam strawberries are like 2nds. that would be great, if we can only make jam with them, then that ain’t gonna happen.

My day tomorrow has not taken shape yet, so I can’t commit to anything.
I would like to come in and pack up the peanut butter when I can. I will let you know about tomorrow.

Sunday afternoons seem best for me for meetings but given the right Saturday, I could make that work as well. Afternoons are usually better.

  14. This is great to have the co – op blog up and running. In response to points mentioned in your initial email:

    (1) Jobs – I would be happy to cut and pack the butter and clean the fridge/freezer while I am doing the butter – Saturday?

    (2) Meetings – Perhaps a meeting on a Saturday morning or afternoon may invite some interest. For me meetings around dinner time during the week are too hard.

  15. Sorry could not make it to meeting last nite. Happy to help with tasks required on my days in town.

  16. hi there everyone welcome to the unity co-op blog
we will put here the specials and what is happening during the week ect,

thanks for your support Corinne and Dave
